According to the security company ESET.A network of ‘bots’, called PokerAgent, has infected more than 800 computers and stealing over 16,000 Facebook passwords, mainly in Israel.
This program was designed to achieve data access to Facebook data and credit cards linked to social network accounts and statistics of Zynga Poker players, allegedly with the intent to defraud victims.
“The Trojan is programmed to log into a Facebook account and get the one hand, the statistics of Zynga Poker , second, the number of payment methods, such as the cards credit stored on the Facebook account.” Security company said.
It further notes that the Trojan is only interested in the user’s gender, their points and their classification. This information is sent back to the command and control center. Keep in mind, says the computer security company, that to the query, the attacker only needs the numerical identifier of the Facebook account and a valid parameter for the application signed Zynga Poker .
The infected system can perform various tasks on behalf of a victim of Facebook, such as posting links on the user’s wall. Unlike other Trojans , it does not attempt to enter or interfere with the user’s Facebook account that is infected, the botnet serves rather as a proxy, so that illegal activities do not run out of the infected computer.
